Molded EPS Insulated Shippers
Molded EPS Containers are constructed of small beads of expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam, compressed tightly together to form specific sizes and shapes. These durable containers offer a reusable, easy-to-clean, form of packaging to protect your product for transport and/or storage, as well as maintaining a consistent internal temperature.

Knockdown EPS Foam
If, for one reason or another, a one-piece design is not suitable for your needs, you might consider Knockdown EPS Foam stackable panels inside a carton size of your choice. We are able to customize the inner dimension, as well as the wall thicknesses of the knockdown panels to meet your specifications. These panels offer a solution for all-around protection of product in a consistent environment.

Vacuum Panel Designs
When shipping temperature-sensitive diagnostic specimens and biological products, we suggest a truly superior shipper that minimizes “edge losses” experienced by shippers utilizing six-piece vacuum insulated panels. It is our two-piece vacuum insulated panel box enclosed within a corrugated box. It offers superior temperature control capability thereby reducing coolant requirements, increasing space for product, and decreasing freight.

Specimen Bags
A variety of leak-proof specimen transport bags are available to suit your every need. Specimen Collection Bags are constructed of a durable 2-mil polyethylene to allow for safe handling and are pre-printed with the biohazard symbol. On the flipside, we provide a document pouch for specimen paperwork for tracking and convenience.

95kPa bags feature leak-resistant seals and meet DOT & IATA Biological Substances shipping regulations due to their water-tight properties. The zipper closure is easy to use, providing an unyielding and reliable seal every time. Requisition forms can be inserted into a back pocket on the bags, conveniently accommodating laboratory transportation requirements.

Any of a variety of specimen bags can be combined with other products to create a compliant and cost-effective shipping assembly. You might consider retrofitting 95kPa tape closure bags with an absorbent pad and patented 36-cell rack into a shipping container for means of compliant transport. The 36-cell rack with custom-fitted sleeve is additionally discussed in this section.

Specimen Tray Designs
Thermoforming capability provides you with an inner packaging configuration for specimen shippers, customized to meet your specifications. Thermoforming is the process of forming plastic sheets to specific sizes, shapes, and configurations. Utilize a plastic form to hold tubes upright, or close a formed tray with the tubes lying flat with a thermoformed or Tyvek lid stock, or combine a tray with absorbents and seal to create a vacuum package. The possibilities are endless. No matter the application, thermoformed trays make an ideal solution for holding your required number of specimens securely in place during transport.

Foam Racks
Foam specimen transport racks accommodate the required number, size, and shape of your primary receptacles from polyurethane, polystyrene, or polyethylene foam, depending upon the application. In stock and available for immediate delivery - patented 36-cell rack constructed from a foam material that is not affected by extreme temperatures and is compliant with shipping protocols for both Diagnostic and Infectious substances. The rack accepts various size vials/transport tubes and allows specimens to be separated and cushioned. The 36-cell rack is offered with an outer corrugated liner that is numbered and letter coded for easy specimen reference.

Absorbent Pouches
A diverse selection of sizes of absorbents that can serve as an additional barrier for spills or leakage are manufactured. From 12” x 16” pouches to individual test tube covers, and 8” x 11” sheets to 2” x 4” strips, we can fulfill any current applications you may have or assist in designing a new solution to meet specific requirements.

Insulated Shippers
We offer a variety of insulated shipping solutions to suit your every need from molded EPS containers with lids, to knockdown foam panels, to two-piece vacuum insulated panel boxes. Each and every style can be ordered with an outer corrugated carton to accommodate the inner insulated container.

Foam Specimen Holders

Prototyping
From the CAD-CAM drawings, a steel-ruled cutting die or mold, whichever the requirement, will be produced and a sample part provided to the customer from the foam of choice to ensure fit and functionality prior to production.

Selection of Materials
It is important that the foam type and density be suited to the particular application - a variety of foam types in a choice of colors, as follows:

Polyurethane Foam
Polyurethane is an “open cell” foam which offers excellent resilience and durability. It is easily fabricated for many general industrial and commercial applications. Urethane foam is readily available in a wide range of densities. This, combined with its cushioning, moisture absorption, and sound dampening capabilities makes polyurethane an extremely versatile foam choice.

Expanded Polystyrene Foam
Expanded polystyrene foam, made from small “beads”, can be custom molded to specific sizes and shapes. It can also be made into “boards” of different lengths and thicknesses used in the fabrication of smaller sized parts. However, custom molding is generally reserved for larger quantities with more demand for precision.

Polystyrene foam offers high compressive strength in a full range of densities. Its ease of fabrication makes it ideal for platforms, displays, inner package support, cushioning and corner pads.

The molding capabilities are limitless, and some current applications include platforms, trays, and packaging in the fields of electronics, appliances, photography, toys, medical devices, machine parts, and office equipment.

Polyethylene Foam
Polyethylene is a “closed cell” foam featuring superb durability, shock absorption and abrasion resistance characteristics. In addition, it is odorless, buoyant, and does not absorb liquids.

These characteristics make it particularly effective for recreational/athletic equipment, as well as water sport and flotation equipment. Being resistant to most solvents and chemicals gives it a natural advantage in agricultural, construction, and industrial applications.

The fact that polyethylene foam lends itself to cutting and shaping, and will not fracture under stress, has given it wide acceptance in nearly every concept of protective packaging.

Crosslinked Polyethylene Foam
This is a closed cell foam available in rolls and planks. It can be thermoformed, heat pressed die cut, and fabricated into a variety of shapes. This foam is compliant with various medical applications.

Thermoforming enables us to provide an inner packaging configuration for specimen shippers, customized to meet your needs. Bulk Shipping Solutions
Vacuum packaging technology to create a specimen management solution for clinical laboratories shipping large numbers of diagnostic specimens.

Users can obtain Competent Authority Approval for use of our Bulk Specimen Shipper System. This system is currently approved as a 6.2 shipper and in use by major US clinical laboratories.

The vacuum process eliminates the labor intensive and expensive practice of individually wrapping and unwrapping each specimen. All specimen tubes become secure within a large absorbent pouch and a heat sealed water tight poly bag.

No other product on the market can ship more specimen tubes per outer container, and meet IATA 602/650 performance criteria. More tubes per package means less packages to ship which translates into a cost savings to the clinical laboratory.
